Osler-Green Badminton Club

The Osler-Green Badminton Club provides a wonderful opportunity to play badminton for all standards of players. Club sessions happen in Tingewick Hall on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5-6.30pm and are open for anyone to come along. What better way to deal with post-hospital stress than thrash a shuttlecock around Tingewick. We have also entered the Osler Green Badminton Team into the collegiate leagues, providing players with opportunity to represent the Medical School. Osler-Green Boat Club

Whatever your level of skill and time commitment, rowing with Osler-Green means that you can have all the fun of college rowing alongside your clinical studies. The time restrictions of clinical medicine can make it very difficult to fit in with normal college boat clubs, so really the best solution is to row with other clinical medics (and Green College students) who are all, quite literally, in the same boat! However, this does not mean that we compromise on the quality of the crews we produce. The fact that we can train all year round, outside normal term time, and that many who join the club already having some rowing experience as undergrads, means that we typically produce some of the fastest crews on the river.

For many years, Osler-Green women were Head of the River in Torpids/Eights - status we hope to re-claim! Last year we finished in 5th place in Eights, having bumped up three places, and we are currently 4th on the river in Torpids, so the Headship is within reach! The men's side has a shorter history and is currently situated in the mid-range in Torpids and Eights, giving it great potential for development. As in previous years, we aim to field lower boats for novices with little or no experience and for those wanting a lower level of time commitment. The scope of our training also expands beyond Torpids/Eights to include other regattas and rowing events across the country.

So whether you want to go for an occasional weekend outing, or train for getting blades send us an email.

Osler-Green Croquet Club

For many years the Medical School was a dark, barren, uncultured place. Fine upstanding gentlemen and virtuous ladies were being produced from the Oxford or Cambridge Colleges. However upon reaching the dizzy-ing heights of Osler-Green this side of one's education was being neglected, for the more "important" knowledge of heart-sounds, history taking and hysterectomies [sorry that last one is a little naff in comparison, I wanted another h]. Things got so desperate that many six years were seen not only drinking instant 'coffee' but even putting the milk in first!

Do not be dismayed for the Osler-Green Croquet Society was formed to rescue both Osler, but also in it's own little way the future of the NHS at large... joking aside the Club is very chilled, and there for those who have no idea of a roquet through to the ace. Last year we just got Osler-Green involved in Cuppers however the Club should grow with hints of an internal cup and we are open to anyone who is keen to knock around a ball...

Osler-Green Football Club

The Osler-Green Football Club provides an opportunity for footballers of all standards to play and train. This year we will play in the top MCR divison, Cuppers, the NAMS tournament and several friendlies (hopefully including a game against the Tabs). For those who haven't played much before there are also more relaxed training sessions every week which are also great fun. Last year we had a fantastic season and the next promises to be even better. The team's awesome. Get involved. Sign up at the Freshers Fair, or email:

Osler-Green Womens Football

The Osler-Green team has gone from strength to strength this year. We've moved up a division in the University League, played in cuppers, and met medics from other Universities in the NAMS tournament. This year it is in Dundee and we want to bring as many people as possible - the night out afterwards was the highlight of last year's season! We have practices one evening a week, with matches on the weekends. There is a huge range of standards - from people who have never played before to those who are pros. Anyone wanting to run around and laugh is welcome!

Osler-Green Mens Hockey Club

Last year saw the creation of Osler-Green men’s hockey team which proved to be a huge success! Starting off in the lower reaches of the College leagues, we steam-rollered our opposition to gain promotion in our first term. Now we are looking to build on that success and have a great time whilst we’re doing it. We normally play on Friday evenings and want as many of you as possible to come and join us. Whatever your standard, whatever position you play; if you are at all interested please come and see us at the Freshers’ Fair or drop us an email!

Osler-Green Rugby

Osler Green rugby is great way to meet people across the three clinical years as well as enjoy fantastic socials. The team is social side and we only train during September and October. We play fixtures every couple of weeks and the side is usually very fluid giving everyone a chance to play.

Although the commitment is minimal the side plays a standard of rugby equivalent to division one college rugby. Last season we only lost one game (Vinnies XV) and enjoyed emphatic victories against the Lawyers and Doctors XVs, as well as reaching the quarter finals of the NAMS sevens.

Osler-Green Squash Club

To anyone who is interested in playing squash, whether you've never played before (I hadn't until recently) or can rally like a pro, an Osler squash ladder has now been set up! A ladder is a very easy way to start playing and quickly find people of a similar ability. All the necessary intructions are on the site. Just go to: squash-ladder.net/Osler

Easy. Then register with your e-mail and start challenging. Challenges are made through the site, which automates everything. You then input the result, it updates and you're ready to challenge again. Once the ladder gets going, I will start setting up termly prizes and can co-ordinate tournaments for those who might be interested

Osler-Green Tennis Club

Tennis at Osler-Green is open to all. Not only do we have beautifully situated courts at Green College that all medics can use, along with balls and rackets there, but we run weekly club nights and lessons throughout the summer. During Trinity term there are also intercollegiate matches (Cuppers and League), and a ladder that runs all year. All standards are welcome to get involved in Osler-Green tennis!
